Here's my model showcase done in a Tuscan ambience. LJT Designs designs and builds new homes and additions, remodels kitchens, baths, basements. Additionally we sell furniture, custom design window treatments and bedding...etc. everything but windows!!!

  6. 6. You are greeted at The entry by An 11’6” tall arched custom hand carved 9’ mahogany front door with seeded glass transom and sidelites
  7. 7. “Design must seduce, shape and more importantly evoke an emotional response.” – April greiman
  8. 8. The model showcase is all about scale as this home has soaring ceilings and large spaces. hence, All furniture selections were oversized and grand. Natural light pours through the 14’ tall arched window into the 21’ vaulted beamed ceiling
  9. 9. the massive fireplace is topped with a 7’ tall mirror “There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.” – milton glaser T

  11. 11. A WARM SUN-KISSED tuscan ambience is creatED through DISTRESSED FINISHES – a stuccoed glazed wall finish, solid bronze rocky mountain hardware and knotty alder floors, woodwork and doors. The design challenge posed by vast spaces with high ceilings requires using furniture or other design elements which visually fill the space so it does not feel empty and cold.
  12. 12. The Living and dining rooms were combined - great for entertaining
  13. 13. “Architecture is really about well-being. I think that people want to feel good in a space … On the one hand it’s about shelter, but it’s also about pleasure.” – zaha hadid
  14. 14. A massive chandelier adorned with large crystal prisms hangs above the dining table
  15. 15. Two 9’4” tall curio cabinets flank the double french doors with seeded glass which open to the kitchen
  16. 16. Open staircase leads to the lower level
  17. 17. Angled arched opening leads to the heart of the home where everyone congregates: the kitchen, sunroom , family room and hallway
  18. 18. The Kitchen, breakfast nook and sun room have 10’ beamed/stuccoed ceilings. the 11’ sunken family room is ‘separated’ with a knee-wall planter.

  21. 21. an enormous 9’ x 9’3” island is great for buffets, doing homework, etc. The island also serves to separate others from the chefs work triangle
  22. 22. Double kohler sinks create the clean up area with the dishwasher left of the sinks across from island cabinets with pull out trays for dishes and glasses
  23. 23. Two-toned, Stained and black distressed Knotty alder cabinets create visual interest in a large kitchen
  24. 24. two pantries flank the Planning desk
  25. 25. a hammered copper apron front sink was placed a short distance between the stovetop, ovens and refrigerator creating a perfect working triangle
  26. 26. The sun room creates the perfect spot for morning coffee, reading or conversation

  28. 28. The 11’ sunken family room has a 9’ wide stone fireplace and A 25’ wall of glass which opens to a sunken patio for unobstructed views of the golf course
  29. 29. a 92” high alder armoire houses a tv and audio equipment
  30. 30. The hallway on the right leads to the powder room , garage entry, closet, office and full bathroom adjacent to the office/4th bedroom
  31. 31. The Powder room was finished in a warm terra cotta venetian plaster and has a hand carved mahogany vanity complemented by bronze, gold and crystal sconces and a matching ceiling fixture.
  32. 32. Antique bronze bird cage faucets complement the wooden hand-carved gold mirror
  33. 33. a Built in cabinet topped with a black brushed and chiseled edge granite is encased in an arched opening off the garage entry
  34. 34. the garage entry greets you with a 9’ tall clock flanked by botanical prints.
  35. 35. Opposite the built in cabinet lies a large custom closet with mirrored doors
  36. 36. Every closet in this home was custom built in knotty alder to match the millwork throughout the house
  37. 37. A Full bath is located across from the office which could also be used as a guest room Oil rubbed bronze faucets and sconces are wall- mounted in the custom arched etched mirror
  38. 38. a furniture piece was retrofit- ted as a vanity. An unusual Brushed Traver- tine tile was used through out this bath

  49. 49. 13’6” high ceiling is Vaulted and beamed. custom drapery and bedding designed by ljt A 12’ high by 12’ wide custom arched door leads to an exterior balcony overlooking the golf course
  50. 50. The oversized 9’ tall 6’ wide armoire houses the tv
  51. 51. The acanthus leaf detail on the Iron chandelier is repeated in the drapery treatment, mirrors above the night stands, ironwork on the armoire and the balusters on the exterior balcony
  52. 52. Arched opening leads to the sitting room, his and her master walk-in closets and master bathroom
  53. 53. Master bedroom sitting room, make-up area and closets The beamed vaulted ceiling is 11’6” high
  54. 54. His and hers walk in closets are located behind the mirrored doors
  55. 55. Matching sofas with ottoman beckon one to read, relax or converse
  56. 56. A recessed alcove houses The make-up area (note a cozy ‘yoda’ [ kitty] on right...)
  57. 57. DOUBLE DOOR ENTRY WITH A SEEDED GLASS TRANSOM WINDOW leads to the master bathroom
  58. 58. The master BATHROOM IS TILED IN HONEY ONYX DOTTED WITH BLACK MOSAIC TILES. THE hand painted VANITY WAS created by piecing together three separate VANITIES and topping them wITH BLACK GRANITE
  59. 59. THE arched opening encases a 6’ JETTED BATHTUB FLANKED BY COPPER PLANTERS WHICH provide access and hide THE ELECTRICAL COMPO- NENTS OF THE TUB.

  81. 81. The lower level has above-ground windows, 2 masonry fireplaces, full bath, living room or potential additional bedroom, media room, exercise room or office, 4th bedroom or office, partially finished but designed kitchen area and dining/card game area
  82. 82. LIVING ROOM/potential additional bedroom now used as ljt designs studio
  83. 83. Ljt REUPHOLSTERED THE FURNITURE IN THIS AREA
  84. 84. ARCHWAY was a disguise to hide the DUCTWORK
  85. 85. A VERSAILLES PATTERN TRAVERTINE TILE WAS USED ON THE main area of the FLOOR and carpeting was installed in the remaining rooms
  86. 86. HAND PAINTED FURNITURE piece WITH COPPER INLAYS WAS RETROFITTED TO serve as a VANITY.
  87. 87. A ROUND HAMMERED COPPER SINK complements the WALl-MOUNTed FAUCEts embedded in the Mirror.

  90. 90. full masonry stone fireplace. the openings on either side of fireplace lead to exercise room or possible office

  92. 92. Unfinished, but Designed media wall will house 130” screen and cabinets. Ceiling Speakers have been installed throughout the lower level.
  93. 93. Light-filled Exercise room or potential office has abundant windows and tv outlet behind the artwork
  94. 94. UNFINISHED but DESIGNED KITCHEN/BAR AREA TO HOUSE TWO 24” WINE COOLERS on back wall; UNDER-COUNTER REFRIGERATOR ON LEFT, MICROWAVE OVEN AND ICEMAKER ON THE SEATING WALL AND SINK AND DISHWASHER ON THE RIGHT
  95. 95. French doors and sidelites with seeded glass open to 4th bedroom or office. Shades could be installed on glass for privacy.
  96. 96. Bedding and drapery panels were purchased at pottery barn and customized by ljt
  97. 97. Cabinet doors are awaiting mirror panels to hide and house tv and storage.
  98. 98. Abundant light pours in through large above-grade windows
  99. 99. Tufted headboard was designed by ljt and custom made. Matching fabric was used on the reupholstered love seat to tie the room together.
  100. 100. Electric and phone outlets were installed in The double closets which ljt uses to house the printer and fax
