    • Internet Ethics Chester County Schools Network Acceptable Use Policy
      • Be polite: Do not be abusive to others. Always use appropriate language. Profanity, vulgarity or other inappropriate language are forbidden. Illegal activities are strictly forbidden. (On-line Poker etc.)
      • Documents may not include a student’s or employee’s social security number or any other personally identifiable information that may lead to the identity of one’s self or others. No addresses or phone numbers.
      • No student pictures (video or still) audio clips, personal information or original student work will be published by the district or an employee of the district without permission from the student’s parent or guardian.
      • Electronic mail is not guaranteed to be private. System operators have access to all mail. Messages relating to or in support of illegal or inappropriate activities will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
      • Do not disrupt, harass or annoy other users.
      • All communications and information accessible via the network should be assumed to be private property. Always cite all quotes, references and sources.
      • Never attempt to access inappropriate or restricted information not directly associated with work-related purposes. (this includes obscene materials, illegal materials, confidential materials and protected material)
      • All subject matter on school or district web pages will relate to curriculum, instruction, school-authorized activities or to the school district.
      • Employees may not publish links to personal home pages or links to home pages of individuals or organizations not directly affiliated with the district.
      • Vandalism to materials or data will result in cancellation of privileges as well as possible disciplinary action.
      • Users may not use the system for financial or commercial gain.
      • All work should be proofread to avoid spelling and grammatical errors.
      • All pages on the district servers are property of the school district.
      • Do not share passwords. The only person who should ever use an account should be the person to whom it belongs.
