  • 2. What is a Voki?
    • “Voki enables users to express themselves on the web in their own voice using a talking character”.
    • A “Voki can speak with your own voice which is added via microphone, upload, or phone”.

  • 3. What is a Voki?
    • Vokis are sharable, portable, and easy to create. Once a Voki is completed, students can:
      • Publish it to a Blog
      • Post it on a Website
      • Share it with others via email or mobile phone

  • 4. Why use Voki in a Classroom?
    • Creating a Voki allows students to deliver 60 seconds of spoken word using an online character and their own voice. A Voki can be used to:
      • Deliver a speech
      • Do a dramatic reading
      • Give personal opinions on a topic
      • Deliver a book report or essay
      • And more…
  • 5. Why use Voki in a Classroom?
    • Creating a Voki allows students to express themselves with the comfort of knowing it is not them being seen but their online character.
      • No more stage fright
      • Less fear of peer ridicule
  • 6. Why use Voki in a Classroom?
    • Creating a Voki allows students to enhance their creativity, their speaking skills and their technology skills by:
      • Allowing them to design their avatar (if the teacher chooses)
      • Allowing them to use their own voice to deliver the desired message
      • Allowing them to share their avatar with others
  • 7. How to create a Voki

    • To create a Voki (the quick version):
      • Go to www.voki.com
        • Must register/log in
      • Click “Create”

    • Pick your avatar
    • Add accessories
    • Add a background
  • 9. How to create a Voki
    • Give your character a voice. You can do this by:
      • Having Voki call you to record audio
      • Typing in text and choosing a voice
      • Using the microphone to record your own audio

    • Publish your Voki. You can publish to:
      • A Website
      • A Blog ( click for example )
      • Or share your Voki via email or mobile phone
