      • 9.30am Villiers Park introduction.
      • 9.45am Feedback on pre-course assignment.
      • 10.30am British film: definitions and issues.
      • 10.45 am Assignment brief.
      • 11am to 11.30am Moodboards/ shot lists/ storyboards & break.
      • 11.30 am to 12.45pm 3 groups film/edit. 3 groups blogs.
      • 12.45pm to 1.30pm Lunch
      • 1.30pm to 2.45 pm 3 groups film/edit. 3 groups blogs.
      • 2.45pm Presentations
      • 3.45pm Evaluations and departure.

    4. Areas to consider…..
      • How are the following represented in the clip?:
      • 1. The Falklands War.
      • 2. The Tory Government.
      • 3. Everyday British life.
      • 4. Youth Culture.
      • Use micro elements (cinematography, mise en scene, sound & editing) to substantiate your points.
      • What do these different areas of representation predict about the messages and values within This is England ?
    5. Key Scenes: This is England
      • In pairs, decide on ONE key scene that you consider to be important within the film. Use the following headings to prepare a short presentation to the rest of the group:
      • 1. Function within the narrative.
      • 2. Character development.
      • 3. Representation.
    6. The Assignment
      • Create a pitch for an original British film which you will present to the group at 2.45pm this afternoon.
    7. The Pitch
      • The pitch will be created on your group blog and MUST include:
      • 1. A powerpoint ‘mood board’. This is a collection of images that indicate ideas and feelings that you want to evoke in your film. ( This could be done on paper if you prefer ).
      • 2. Embedded trailers plus analysis of 3 existing films that you consider to be similar in some way to your film.
      • 3. A 250 word synopsis of your film.
      • 4. Details of potential cast and crew plus justification and funding ideas.
      • 5. A one minute teaser trailer for your film.
    8. Organisation.
      • Working in groups of 3 or 4.
      • All filming must be done on site.
      • 11.30 to 12.45: 3 groups film/ edit. 3 groups work on rest of portfolio.
      • No filming or editing during lunch time.
      • 1.30 to 2.45: 3 groups film/ edit. 3 groups work on rest of portfolio.
