Everyday British life. </li></ul><ul><li>4. Youth Culture. </li></ul><ul><li>Use micro elements (cinematography, mise en scene, sound & editing) to substantiate your points. </li></ul><ul><li>What do these different areas of representation predict about the messages and values within This is England ? </li></ul>
  5. 5. Key Scenes: This is England <ul><li>In pairs, decide on ONE key scene that you consider to be important within the film. Use the following headings to prepare a short presentation to the rest of the group: </li></ul><ul><li>1. Function within the narrative. </li></ul><ul><li>2. Character development. </li></ul><ul><li>3. Representation. </li></ul>
  6. 6. The Assignment <ul><li>Create a pitch for an original British film which you will present to the group at 2.45pm this afternoon. </li></ul>
  7. 7. The Pitch <ul><li>The pitch will be created on your group blog and MUST include: </li></ul><ul><li>1. A powerpoint ‘mood board’. This is a collection of images that indicate ideas and feelings that you want to evoke in your film. ( This could be done on paper if you prefer ). </li></ul><ul><li>2. Embedded trailers plus analysis of 3 existing films that you consider to be similar in some way to your film. </li></ul><ul><li>3. A 250 word synopsis of your film. </li></ul><ul><li>4. Details of potential cast and crew plus justification and funding ideas. </li></ul><ul><li>5. A one minute teaser trailer for your film. </li></ul>

Organisation. <ul><li>Working in groups of 3 or 4. </li></ul><ul><li>All filming must be done on site. </li></ul><ul><li>11.30 to 12.45: 3 groups film/ edit. 3 groups work on rest of portfolio. </li></ul><ul><li>No filming or editing during lunch time. </li></ul><ul><li>1.30 to 2.45: 3 groups film/ edit. 3 groups work on rest of portfolio. </li></ul>
