  • We are bombarded by advertisements everywhere! All trying to get our attention… The fact is our friends & “word of mouth”, influence how we make decisions. Social media helps us (business) get a seat at the table!
  • There are many channels when it comes to social media. You can check out the poster later.

  • Today I’m going to focus on Facebook
  • Why Facebook? People More than 400 million active users 50% of active users log on to Facebook in any given day Average user has 130 friends People spend over 500 billion minutes per month on Facebook Activity Average user is connected to 60 pages, groups and events Average user creates 70 pieces of content each month More than 25 billion pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photo albums, etc.) shared each month.
  • So when I talk about pages… This is an example of Facebook Fan Page with a ‘Custom Landing page’. This page looks very much like a webpage! Starbucks has a custom application on their Facebook page, for customers/consumers to monitor their Startbucks account.
  • Custom landing pages can have video, audio, graphics of all kinds to explain what the fan page is all about.
  • You can provide a custom introduction to your Facebook Fanpage. You also want to tie your website together with your Facebook page.
  • You can run contests and marketing campaigns with your fan pages!
  • Create a compelling reason for people to follow your business on Facebook.
  • Notice the URL at the top.
  • A custom or vanity URL allows you to reference your page cleanly and easily. You can browse to it directly: facebook.com/reliable.business.partners Or text “ ‘Like’ reliable.business.partners” to 32665 and you’ll become a fan of my page.
  • Memory hook: Anytime you hear Facebook, ask if their business is on Facebook yet. Short money gets them a Facebook presence.
