  • 1. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
    Wordle/Wordle/Wordle/Wordle/
  • 2. Survey with Survey Monkey…
    • To conduct an audience feedback I created a Survey from www.surveymonkey.com(an online survey) which would also provide me with the statistics needed.
    • 3. I only asked question on my music video, which was sent via Facebook and Email.
    • 4. The person would be anonymous.
    • 5. I wanted to ensure that my audience understood the narrative and I wanted to gain any criticism to my music video.
  • Overview of Results
    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QVMZLWC
    • From the result it has been a great success, for the comments received are extremely positive. However, they also provide some criticism which I welcome, for here, I learn my mistakes and how I could have made it better. For no product is every left wholly perfect.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    • From the 46 who took part in this survey,, when asked: “Did you enjoy and like the music video you have just witnessed”, 97.8% said YES, making that 45/46  Only one person didn’t really enjoy it, however, this shows that the feedback was positive and that they did enjoy the music video created. Can’t win them all.
  • Rate My Video…
    • As shown from the image above, there are mixed reviews over the ratings of my music video. The scores are a very high rating, with a joint rating between 1&2. Yet there is a equal rating of 5, which is the lowest, showing that practically all those who watched enjoyed it, they didn’t believe it was high enough of a rating. I have learnt from this that my music video may have appeared amateur, which is very much is. However, the rating is very mixed, which also suggests that the rating score may have conflicted with people’s likes and dislikes. Yet, overall and very good feedback.
  • Here, we use Wordle…
Could you tell us your interpretation of this music video (your thoughts & feelings)
    • I wanted to make sure that my audience understood the narrative of my music video, and what their thoughts and feelings were on it. Here is the use of wordle, which make certain words prominent.
    • 6. The feedback is extremely positive, and the audience understood the situation that was occurring. They commented on it being "really good" and they understood it was an "emotional... young...heartbreak". One commented on the cast being "The right people for the video".
  • Could you tell us your interpretation of this music video (your thoughts & feelings)
  • 7. wordle…
    • And one quote I believe captures and understand clearly from my audience feedback on this question is this:
    • 8. "I felt this was an effective indie/pop piece about young love, rejection and heartbreak. The story was simple, and the conventions were familiar, but that's not a criticism. It was a very competent piece of work that shows good understanding of the genre. Very nicely put together.“ Sat, Mar 13, 2010 1:54 PM (Male aged 25-30)
    • 9. And another positive one is: "It really captures the emotions of the song and brings it to life!“
From this I have learnt that my music video is able to convey the correct information I wanted too, of the emotional heartbreak of a girl.
  • 10. Was there any moments in the music video which you thought was boring, not effective or didn't like?
“The girl crying was a bit annoying, you didn't have an attachment with her because she was just blank and seemed whingey.”
    Female, aged 14-18 (Friday, March 19, 2010 3:35:37 PM)
  • 11.
    • In my report the answer commonly used, which hasn't appeared here, was "No", which is really good. But, I have enjoyed the aspects some haven't enjoyed about my music video, and actually agree with them.
    • 12. One stated that "The crying, and singing in a club was slow to get into" and another didn't either enjoy the "The girl crying was a bit annoying".
    • 13. This is fully appreciated, and I have to agree that there is too much crying, but then, how would the audience fully understand the turmoil she trying to show.
  • What scene (or scenes) did you particular like?
“My favourite scene was when the girl blows out the candle to represents the end of relationship. I thought it was a simple yet an effective concept.”
    Female 19-25 Sunday, March 21, 2010 11:46:38 AM
  • 14.
    • It is apparent from the response that the most favoured scenes were:
Running Scene (with Flashes to candle)
The girl and her emotions throughout
    Lip Synching
    • My audience have stated that they "The flashback/memory montage was particularly nicely edited" and "The scene where the singer displays emotion - very believable". Others commented on the "running scene" as its now being called and enjoyed the different shots used.
Therefore from this response I have learnt from my editing and skill to convey certain emotions (and therefore camera shots/movement) is well liked and notice, as it has enable my audience to experience the same feeling.
  • 15. By understanding my audiences genre they mostly like listening too, I believed that it would be a good thing if they didn’t usually listening to this music, and that they enjoyed music video, then my music video would have had a good success. I believe that is had, because although the mostly listening, amongst the 46 who took part, 98.8% asserted that they did enjoy my music video.
  • 16. Audience Feedback Conclusion
    • Of the people who took part in this survey, I have learnt that my music video has been a success, and that is was enjoyed by many different people, with their different taste in music.
    • 17. I have learnt that my audience see my music video as amateur, yet quite effective and creative, through the use of editing and camera shots/movement, which is noted.
    • 18. I have learnt that my music video could have been better, more polished and tidy. I feel that this is very true, and that, if I had more time or maybe even thought more and provided more filming that this could have been achieve.
