      • JMIR and JAMIA are the most influential journals in the health informatics field
      • Do not only look at Impact Factor when deciding where to submit. Also consider
        • whom you want to reach (JMIR has a broader readership due to its open access policy)
        • the scope of the journals
        • editorial turnaround-time (JMIR < JAMIA)
        • funding (JMIR requires article processing fee or membership. Also note that starting Apr 2008, all NIH funded research must be deposited in PMC – only JAMIA and JMIR are in PMC currently*)
      * Among the journals listed by ISI/SCI
