2. The target audience for our artist is young, teenage females . On the socio-economic scale they possibly fall under the groups C1 (Lower middle class/trade jobs) and C2 (Skilled working class/blue collar workers) These groups aren’t of particularly high income but the people that make up this group are known as loyal to the familiar. The socio-economic scale depends on 5 things which can be remembered by G.R.A.S.S which stands for, Gender, Race, Age and Socio-economic Status. This is known as demographic profiling which involves grouping the audience into small groups based on such variables.
3. Another way in which to categorise audience is by psychographic profiling. This type of profiling assumes the audience to be complex and have certain needs which need to be gratified. Media theorists Young and Rubicam approached characteristics of people in terms of their personal aspirations. They said there were four categories of audience based upon these aspirations: In the Young and Rubicam’s Cross-cultural Consumer Characteristics table our target audience would fall under the category of mainstreamers. Mainstreamers make up a large percentage of the market and tend to go with things that they know, for a sense of comfort and security. Young female mainstreamers are a good audience to target as they are a large and loyal niche audience. It is easy to please them as they tend to stick to a similar product but maybe with some different qualities. For example, if they like pop music, they get that with Eloise but they also get an artist who plays their own music and perhaps a role model for them as she is a classy artist. There is a chance that Eloise could appeal to a secondary target audience of older women as she has quite an in depth character and so do her songs.
4. We have used several audience feedback techniques throughout the making of our project so that we could give the audience exactly what they want and therefore generating more success for the artist. Before starting the project we handed out questionnaires to our target audience asking general questions concerning their music taste. When our project was complete we showed a test screening to a few individuals to get honest feedback and we also sent out further questionnaires to make sure that our video was appealing to the audience.
5. The link below takes you to a you tube video of our audience feedback. We screened the video to four teenage females to see if our video would appeal to them. Video feedback The following slides show the results from a questionnaire that I sent out to 10 people who I thought would potentially be fans of Eloise as they were in the target audience we had predicted for her.
6. I handed out 10 questionnaires to several people who I thought would be the typical target audience of Eloise. The results are as followed:
7.
8. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being very bad, 10 being very good) how professional did the video look to you? Ratings One Two Three Four Five Six I Seven III Eight III Nine II Ten I
15. Judging by the audience feedback I can say that the product gained the response that I’d hoped for from the target audience. The results were mainly positive but the audience did pick up on a few improvements that could have been made. The thing that seemed to get the most positive response was the way the video told a story. I think that this was popular because its typical of a pop video to do that and so the audience are comfortable with it and expect it.Reflecting on the feedback I would have made the cuts a bit faster paced to keep attention as that seemed to be the main downfall.
