    2. What is the best way to tell what time it is?
    3. Different kinds of clocks
    4. Time on an analogue clock. Time on the analogue clock is represented by numbers. They have hour hands and minute hands to tell the time.
    5. Parts of the face of the clock
      • Face-the front of the clock: clear
      • Numbers:1-12: stand for the hour
      • Marks: represent the minutes: there are 60
      • Little hand: points to the hour
      • Big hand: points to the minute
      • Second hand: long and thin, ticks for every second
    6. Time on a digital clock
      • Digital clocks tell time with numbers.
      • First they tell the hour , then they tell the minutes.
      • This clock reads: eight o’clock
    7. Hour
      • An hour is sixty minutes
      • It takes an hour for the big hand to go all the way round the clock.
      • When the big hand points at the 12, and the little hand is on a number, that is the hour!

    11. Time on the half-hour
      • 30 minutes or half an hour have gone by
      • Three ways to say time to the half-hour
      • Example: six-thirty, thirty past six, or half past six

      • Five o’clock
      • Five thirty
    13. The short hand shows the hours. The long hand shows the minutes. There are exactly sixty minutes in one hour. 2 : 30

    16. Quarter hours
      • Each hour has 60 minutes.
      • Each hour has 4 quarter-hours.
      • A quarter-hour is 15 minutes.
      • From the 12 to the 3 is fifteen minutes.
    17. When the long hand (minute hand) points to the 9, the long hand is one-fourth (one-quarter) to the hour. 1:45-digital clock
    18. When the long hand (the minute hand) points to the 3,the long hand is one-fourth (or one-quarter) of the way around the clock or past the hour. 1:15 digital clock
    19. Match the time.
      • Choose the word to match the time
      • One ten
      • One hundred fifteen
      • One fifteen
    20. Counting the numbers by 5’s.
      • How much time has passed
      • Count the numbers by 5 to see how many minutes have passed.
    21. Think
      • It is now 8:00
      • How many minutes have Lapsed?
    22. How much time did each activity take?
      • 1. Sue jumped rope from 3:00 till 3:15. She played for ______ minutes.
      • John rode his bike from 3:30 till 4:00. How long did he ride his bike?
    23. Time puzzles
      • When did Jacob start playing football? Jacob played with his brother for 40 minutes. They stopped playing at 7:30.
