  • Wear rings are designed to wear out so the pump won’t have to. Because of the way water moves through the pump case, and because of the tight tolerances between components (required for efficiency,) The pump case is vulnerable to wear. Wear rings help prevent this. Here, we’ll look at how water moves through the pump case, how efficiency is achieved, how damage can occur, and How wear rings help pump designers deal with these issues.
