2. Why is water unique??
 Water is unique because the energy
relationships of the water molecule are very
important for us to understand in life.

3.  When energy is added to the water the
molecules speed up and are more freely to
move around.
 When you have cold water the molecules slow
down and they are tightly together.
 Also when they are really cold that is when
they freeze up..
 When the temperature gets warmer the energy
in the molecules mover faster and they can go
anywhere they want to because they have so
much energy in the molecules or in simpler
terms it dissolves.

4. What is a Gram-Calorie?
 A gram-calorie is- approximately equal units of
heat, measured as the quantity of heat is required
to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1°C
from a standard initial temperature and especially
from 3.98°C, 14.5°C, or 19.5°C, at 1 atmosphere
pressure.
 Also called small calorie.
 A common measure of heat energy is a gram-
calorie.
 The amount of the heat needed to raise a gram of
pure water from 14.5-degrees C. To 15.5-degrees
C. at sea level air pressure.

liquid (water), and gas (vapor).

Ice has a rigid molecular structure which is held
together by a strong bond between the molecules
by the "hydrogen bond“.
 When heat is added to the ice it warms up until it
reaches the freezing temperature of 32-degrees F.
(0-degrees C.).

 Definition- is a property of the surface of a
liquid. It is what causes the surface portion of
liquid to be attracted to another surface, such
as that of another portion of liquid (as in
connecting bits of water or as in a drop of
mercury that forms a cohesive ball).

 Water serves as a lubricant
 Water forms the base for saliva
 Water forms the fluids that surround the
joints.
 Water regulates the body temperature, as the
cooling and heating is distributed through
perspiration.
 Water helps to alleviate constipation by
moving food through the intestinal tract and
thereby eliminating waste- the best detox
