    2. 2. College & Career! <ul><li>Texas A&M University will have an Admissions representative in the College & Career Center during all lunches on Wednesday, April 15 th ! </li></ul>
    3. 3. College & Career! <ul><li>Are you interested in volunteering at Conroe Regional Medical Center this summer? </li></ul><ul><li>Great for college applications!! </li></ul><ul><li>The Junior Volunteer Program is accepting applications until April 30th. </li></ul><ul><li>Come to the College & Career Center for more information. </li></ul>
    4. 4. No School on Friday! <ul><li>Friday, April 10 is a School Holiday! </li></ul><ul><li>School resumes on Monday, April 13! </li></ul>
    5. 5. Cosmetology 09/10! <ul><li>If you are going to be a junior next year and are interested in applying for Cosmetology I, you need to have your application filled out and turned in to your counselor no later than the end of the school day Wednesday, April 8th. </li></ul><ul><li>You can pick up an application from your counselor or in room D110. </li></ul><ul><li>If you have any questions, please see or email Mrs. Dunn before Thursday, April 9th. </li></ul>
    6. 6. NEHS! <ul><li>NEHS will have a meeting on Tuesday, April 14, at 2:45pm in room C-223. </li></ul><ul><li>We will be discussing Key Kesey’s “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. </li></ul>
    7. 7. 2 nd Annual ORHS Recycle Challenge! <ul><li>With the arrival of new phonebooks something has to be done with the old ones. So…It is time for the 2 nd Annual ORHS Recycle Challenge. </li></ul><ul><li>All 1 st period classes are invited to participate. </li></ul><ul><li>Collect all the paper, magazines, phonebooks, etc that you can find. </li></ul><ul><li>Bring it to your first period teacher and stack it up! </li></ul><ul><li>When we come to collect we will measure the stack(s). </li></ul><ul><li>Tallest stack(s) win a pizza party. </li></ul>

Did You Know! <ul><li>In the U.S., eight out of ten people are willing to separate household trash for recycling. </li></ul><ul><li>The recycling industry accounts for more than 20,000 private-sector jobs in Texas in the processing and end-market facilities adding $2.9 billion to the Texas economy annually. </li></ul><ul><li>Recycling waste material supports about six times as many waste-related jobs as there would be if the same materials were treated as trash. </li></ul>

Seniors! <ul><li>It’s time to get ready for Senior Awards Night! </li></ul><ul><li>It will be on Thursday, May 21 st at 7:00pm in the ORHS Auditorium. </li></ul><ul><li>Bring copies of your Scholarship Letters and Military Appointments to the College & Career Center by May 1 st ! </li></ul>
    10. 10. Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament! <ul><li>Entries for the Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament are due before April 10 th . </li></ul><ul><li>Please get your paperwork and entry fees in to a volleyball coach this week! </li></ul>

Shattered Lives / Johnny Rockets! <ul><li>On April 8 th and again on April 15 th Johnny Rockets will contribute 15% of receipt sales to Shattered Lives! </li></ul><ul><li>All you have to do is eat at Johnny Rockets on either of those two nights and place your receipt in the Shattered Lives container! </li></ul><ul><li>You can enjoy the 50’s atmosphere and contribute to a good cause at the same time! </li></ul>
    12. 12. Lost and Found! <ul><li>Lost/Found items will be on a table in the cafeteria during all lunches. </li></ul><ul><li>Items not claimed today will be recycled. </li></ul><ul><li>Please make sure to check the table if you have lost any items this year. </li></ul>
    13. 13. Interact: Talent Show Try-Outs! <ul><li>Will be held TODAY, April 8 and TOMORROW , April 9 in the MPR from 3:00pm – 4:30pm. </li></ul><ul><li>Any talent is welcome to try-out. </li></ul><ul><li>Please see Mrs. Parker in room C-225 if you have any questions. </li></ul>

    17. 17. JUNIORS! <ul><li>Are you interested in Summer Internship? Come to the College & Career Center to learn about the EfTA Summer Internship Program. Applications are due April 13th. </li></ul>

Seniors! <ul><li>Please make sure to take care of any fines, fees, or any senior expenditures that you may owe before we begin to sell Prom tickets. </li></ul><ul><li>You may check with Mrs. McKenzie in the front office for fines and fees. </li></ul><ul><li>For senior expenditures please check with Mrs. McGinty (your senior sponsor) in room (C-102). </li></ul>

Special Occasion Dress Code! <ul><li>As we approach the special occasions this spring, remember that you must be in compliance with established dress code of conduct for all school-sponsored events. </li></ul><ul><li>Appropriate dress for special occasions such as, Senior Awards, National Honor Society Induction, Sports Awards programs, etc. is defined by the dress code for school. You can find this in your Student Handbook. </li></ul>
    20. 20. Appropriate dress for Prom will include the following guidelines… <ul><li>• Spaghetti straps and strapless dresses are okay. </li></ul><ul><li>Two-piece dresses must overlap. No midriff can show even when arms are raised. </li></ul><ul><li>• Mesh or see-through inserts in the midriff will not be allowed. </li></ul><ul><li>• Camisole backs (lace-up) are okay. </li></ul><ul><li>• Front and back of dress must not be too low-cut or revealing. </li></ul><ul><li>Back of dress should not go below natural waist. </li></ul><ul><li>• Short dresses must follow dress code measurement, which is to the top of the knee. This includes any slits on long dresses. </li></ul><ul><li>• Underwear must be worn. </li></ul>
    21. 21. Dress cont…. <ul><li>• Boys must wear standard formal wear, which includes dark business suits and appropriate footwear. No flipflops, tennis shoes, or athletic shoes will be allowed. </li></ul><ul><li>• Proper and formal grooming is expected. </li></ul><ul><li>No unusual hairdos or hair color. </li></ul><ul><li>• No rave party accessories, such as flow sticks, are allowed. </li></ul><ul><li>• No costumes allowed. </li></ul><ul><li>If you are not dressed appropriately, you will not be allowed to enter the Prom. </li></ul><ul><li>Remember, if in doubt, don’t wear it! </li></ul><ul><li>We’re looking forward to a great time this spring. </li></ul>

Shattered Lives! <ul><li>If you are in need of alterations and would like a percentage of your money to go towards a good cause…Please pick up a business card from Alterations Express in the front office. </li></ul><ul><li>They will donate 5% of your alteration money to this year’s Shattered Lives program. </li></ul>

Late Busses! <ul><li>The late busses depart our campus at 5:00pm. </li></ul><ul><li>Bus passes are required to ride the late bus! </li></ul><ul><li>The late bus passes come from your teacher or coach that you were with. </li></ul><ul><li>Late busses leave from the West end of the building (teacher parking lot side) at the regular bus departure area. </li></ul>
    25. 25. Homework Help? <ul><li>Do you need help with your homework? </li></ul><ul><li>Mu Alpha Theta is offering help in room C-116 Tuesday through Friday mornings at 6:45am </li></ul>

Student Deliveries <ul><li>Students: </li></ul><ul><li>If you have forgotten your homework, lunch, sports clothes, lunch money, wallet, books, etc. (anything that you need for school), please check with the Front Office-Parents drop off many items without the students knowing. </li></ul><ul><li>Forgot Something = Front Office! </li></ul>
