    • Fossil Fuel PowerPoint By Mike Sahakian
    • Fossil Fuel
        • Fossil fuels are made up of natural resources like anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms
        • Types of fossil fuel are coal, oil, wood, petroleum.
        • Its Fractions are natural gases.
    • Coal
        • Coal was formed as huge amount of vegetation died and then fell into the swamps or any other swap like surfaces that existed at the heavily vegetated Earth of the Carboniferous time.
        •   The 4 stages of coal being formed is peat, lignite, bitumen, and anthracite.
        • After it is pulled out of the ground it gets taken to a refinery when it is separated to usable parts.
    • Oil
        • Oil is formed deep under the surface. When petroleum changes into source rock this cause the  petroleum to change into oil.
        • It is used to fill up cars, motorcycles and other things that need something to run on.
    • Natural Gas
        • Natural resources like anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms. This caused the organic matter to chemically change.
        • They are used for stoves, water heaters and homes
    • Refineries
        • Are industrial process plants where crude oil is processed and refined into more useful petroleum products as in gasoline
        • Fossil fuels go to refineries before being shipped or packaged into barrels or tanks.
    • Exxon Valdez oil spill
        • Is when  an oil tanker bound for Long Beach, CA hit Prince William sounds Bligh Reef and spilled an estimated minimum 10.8 million US gallons. The first cleanup response was through the use of a dispersant, a surfactant and solvent mixture. A private company applied dispersant on March 24 with a helicopter and dispersant bucket. Because there was not enough wave action to mix the dispersant with the oil in the water, the use of the dispersant was discontinued. The spill reduced tourism.
    • Deep Water Horizon
        • was an deep water dynamically positioned ,semi submersible offshore drilling rig which sank on April 22, 2010,  The spill was the result of an explosion two days earlier where eleven crewmen died. Its still going on.It is ruining tourism, killing species and polluting the water. BP is still trying to figure out a way to clean it up but they are going to stick a 6 inch tube up pipe and suck as much gas as they can into a boat container on top.
