How Circuit-Switched Digital Networks Work - Presentation Transcript

    1. How Circuit-Switching Digita l Networks Work Group Web Presentation: Week 11 Member s1160152, s1160153, s1160154, s1160155
    2. About Circuit-Switched Digit al Networks I ⇨ The central office switch have Digit al access equipment. ⇨ ISDN can do fast-call setup. ⇨ The dial-up router finds destination and call selected from a preprogramm ed table.
    3. About Circuit-Switched Digit al Networks II ⇨ Every central office is a computerized switch to route and complete call that comes from circuit switching. ⇨A switching matrix connects local acces s lines and long distance services.
    4. About Circuit-Switched Digit al Networks III ⇨ The CO switch accepts the incoming call a nd makes a digital connection to the dest ination. ⇨ The destination router senses the incomin g call and makes a connection to the LAN. ⇨ The originating router strips off the Eth ernet data and sends TCP/IP packets acros s the LAN-to-LAN connection. ⇨ Client devices on each LAN can access ser vers and services on the other network,bu t with reduced speed.
    5. Conclusion ⇨ Central Office is very useful.
    6. Key terms ⇨ Central office switch ⇨ Circuit Switching ⇨ LAN,TCP/IP,the CO,client
    7. Questions ⇨ Q:What does the dial-up router select a destination by? ⇨ A:A preprogramed table. ⇨ Q:What is switch's role? ⇨ A:To route and complete call. ⇨ Q:Does the CO switch accept the incoming call ? ⇨ A: Yes,it does.
