    • I attended kindergarten in the Philippines. The classroom learning tools consisted of a chalkboard, paper, pencils, pens, erasers, crayons/markers, scissors, and books.
    • No television and computers.

    • Various classrooms had whiteboards, chalkboards, transparencies, and smart boards.
    • There were classes that provided hands on experience for photography, metal shop, jewelry making, computers, and other vocational studies.
    • Students brought supplies to school such as mechanical pencils, flash drives, high tech calculators, laptops, etc.

    • Various teachers use chalkboards, whiteboards, and projectors for power point to present their lecture.
    • For students, a computer is a useful tool for educational purposes because teachers require most assignments typed and turned in through a website. Students also use their laptops for social networking and multimedia.
    • Netbooks are also becoming popular as a portable alternative to laptops and an easier way to stay “connected.”

    • A Smart-board makes learning fun and interactive. This technology can also be used for all grade levels.
    • It’s like a computer on a whiteboard that teacher’s can use for their lessons and is a great way to get the students involved .

    • I want my students to be able use on a computer. For this activity, I want my students to be able to find and communicate with a friend from a school in another country.
    • This will expose my students to different cultures that will help them understanding and develop skills to cope better in a diverse world.

    • I would like to use holographic technology in my classroom. This will enhance the child’s learning by being able to see a 3d image making my lessons easier to visualize.

    • A challenge or barrier for using technology in my classroom is the lack of funds to purchase computers and software.
    • Also, the lack of knowledge for the different software that are available for students.
      • Kidspiration is a technology that helps a child brainstorm and organize their ideas for a writing assignment.
