Digipak Magazine Ad

 1. 1. Digipak magazine ad
Research
2. 2. Examples of CD/album/digipak ads inmagazines
3. 3. These two examples contain an interesting use of bright colours, as well as interesting artistic typography for the title, sub-headers and eye catching slogan’s.
4. 4. The example above has good reference to artistic style, plain white background and interesting composition. The typography is my favourite aspect of the above example because of its colouring, position and font. I think the artistic reference given in this example is
5. 5. These magazines are both very different to one another in terms of lighting, composition, and colour. I prefer the one to the left because of its mysterious lighting, old-style grainy effects and also its typography.
The example below is more modern in terms of style, a lack of text information. Neither example has much artistic reference, and are clearly studio set-ups.
6. 6. This example has interesting portraiture as well as eye catching colour. The composition using text and a close up image I think makes a very appealing style, combined with artistic shapes and symbols to the left of the page.
7. 7. These two examples I put together because of their interesting typography combined with black background, resulting in a very eye-catching way of playing around with the composition through text position and placement.
8. 8. This example has a much more original style, particularly typical with a black and white image which many music magazine ads did as a classic/rock genre. I like this one because of the interesting lighting effects, simple background and it is very simple in terms of lack of art.
9. 9. What I have learnt from looking at examples
Typically I like the artistic style of a music ad, as they add a little more emphasis on the detail and enforce the creativity of an artist. I also find that they are more attractive to look at than classic, simple styles- although there should be a certain amount of simplicity within the artistic nature of the ad.
