    • Billy was a ten-year-old kid who loved nature and biodiversity.
    • He loved all animals, but birds were his favorite.
  • 3.
    • He had a pet bluebird named Webster.
  • 4.
    • Billy and Webster went to the park together every day.
  • 5.
    • Then one day, Billy discovered that bluebirds were a threatened species. He cried and cried.
  • 6.
    • Also, the habitat for bluebirds in the wild was being polluted by habitat degradation. This meant that the bird’s habitat was being damaged by pollution.
  • 7.
    • Billy feared that the birds would become extinct and be gone forever, so he asked his friends what to do.
  • 8.
    • They decided that more bluebirds should be kept in captivity by people.
  • 9.
    • Billy and his friends then had to decide how to spread the message so that people knew about the problem.
  • 10.
    • They made newspaper advertisements, fliers, and yard signs and put them up all over town.
    SAVE THE BLUEBIRDS!!

    • Word quickly began to get around, and people started to bring bluebirds to their attention.
  • 12.
    • Soon, almost everyone in town owned a pet bluebird.
  • 13.
    • One day Billy read in the newspaper that bluebirds were no longer a threatened species. He was very happy.

    • Billy and his friends officially became known as “The Bluebird Society.”
