Slide 2: Vision and Mission  Vision (statement of the future)  What do you see Company A becoming if everything works out right?  Long term horizon (5-10 years)  Mission (statement of the now)  What do we set out to do?  By spelling out what we do, we also exclude what we won’t or don’t do.

Slide 3: Vision Things to look out for  Specific  Try not to be too vague, be clear and avoid cliché.  Measurable  Try to set things you can measure, for example – business growth within the next 3 years.  Achievable  Stretch your imagination, but don’t ask for the moon!  Relevant  Focus on your core activities  Temporal  Have a time frame in mind

Slide 4: Mission  Purpose and value of the organization  What area (products/services)do you want to be in?  Who are your stakeholders?  What responsibilities we have towards our clients?  What are the main objectives supporting the business in accomplishing the mission?

Slide 5: Our Differentiators  What makes us different from others who offers similar products/services?  Think of contents of offer  Think of operational processes  Think of our motivations  Etc…

Slide 6: Business landscape  Who are our competitors?  What products/services do they offer?  What are their strengths, weaknesses?  Are there any untapped opportunities?

Slide 7: Critical Success Factors  What in your view are the critical ingredients for us to successfully meet our mission statement?  What about longer term elements that are key to us fulfilling our vision?  Examples would be in areas of finance, organization, operations, relationships etc…

Slide 8: Scope of work  Define each business area and the scope of work associated with each segment.  E.g. book sales  Region of coverage  Mode of sales  Promotion and awareness  Supplies and channels  Cost of sales and pricing strategies  Etc…

Slide 9: Organization Plan  Propose a working organizational model  Identify skills required  Propose time-line for setting up the organization as well as goal posts if the plan calls for stepped approach.  Tie in to legal framework in Singapore  (do not be afraid to call for help!)

Slide 10: Financial Plan  What investment or set up costs are required?  3 year projection of operational budget as well as profit/loss estimates.  Cash flow analysis  Best/most likely/worst case scenario  (again call in the experts!)
