      • Mashup: “a web application that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated tool.” - Wikipedia
      • Portal: the single page providing access to and updates from the services offered by a website.
      • Catalog: A website or web application showcasing items in a database.

    6. Custom Fields
      • Have customized information fields for individual posts
      • Will only show when you call them
      • Examples: price, sizes, etc. PURPOSE: Take the fields describing each item in any group of items, and display them to the end user. Items can be dynamic content, RSS feeds, or almost anything.

      • Allows you to define fields to always show in your write panel
      • Can be different types of form fields, i.e. Checkbox, radio, text field, etc.
      • Great for client installations & frequently used fields

      • Allows you to make your own write panel
      • Can include or exclude certain fields
      • Can add new fields
      • Great for sites with posts on different types of media (e.g. Book reviews, movie reviews) which would have different fields.

      • You can take custom fields of one post and refer to them in another post.
      • Great for including information that may change
      • Easier for clients than editing templates

      • Great for programmers and for use with conditional fields, shopping carts, etc.
