  • 2. How it all started • In 1874, a group of paintings were exhibited in an exhibit in Paris.
  • 3. • The problem was that these paintings broke the rule of academic painting. The problem
  • 4. • Instead of details, The Impressionists used short, broken strokes made of pure but not as smoothly blended as usual colors.
  • 5. The famous artists • The leading Impressionists, Monet, Renoir, and Pissarro were hailed as high artists after their struggle to show their paintings.
