  • 1. <li>A Therapy Session With Odysseus Post Traumatic Stress Disorder </li><li>Therapist : “ Hello Odysseus-&gt; Why are you here today?” Odysseus : “Well…” </li><li>Trojan War <ul><li>IT , I returned from the grueling Trojan War where I lost many of my fellow comrades and friends-&gt; </li></ul><ul><li>I frequently have nightmares about all the violence that took place during the war-&gt; It still haunts me daily-&gt; </li></ul></li><li>&nbsp;</li><li>Calypso <ul><li>After the war was over, I thought I would be able to return home, but I was wrong-&gt; </li><li>The nymph Calypso captured me and wanted to marry, but all I thought about was my wife and family-&gt; </li><li>I lamented by the ocean in sadness every day, longing to be in Ithaca-&gt; </li></ul></li><li>&nbsp;</li><li>Ciconians <ul><li>Finally, Calypso helped me off the island where I soon came to the island of the Ciconians-&gt; </li><li>We fought the Ciconians, losing more men-&gt; </li><li>My stress level was at its peak-&gt; </li></ul></li><li>The Goggle Eye <ul><li>Later on, I was trapped in a cave by Poseidon&apos;s cyclops son, Polyphemus </li><li>He was brutal and ate some of my crewmen </li></ul></li><li>The Goggle Eye </li><li>Poseidon <ul><li>In the act of trying to escape, I speared the eye of Polyphemus </li><li>Poseidon must have been quite unhappy, and made the seas dangerously rough for me </li></ul></li><li>Poseidon </li><li>Results <ul>Now I experience <li>Loss of interest in my old hobbies </li><li>Haunting memories and dreams </li><li>Anger and blackouts </li><li>Being easily startled </li></ul></li><li><ul>What&apos;s wrong with me? </ul></li><li>The Diagnosis <ul>Therapist: <li>Well Odysseus, considering your rough and tumultuous past and symptoms, you have </li><li>Post Traumatic Stress Disorder </li></ul></li><li>The Perscription <ul><li>I advise you take Prozac, an Antidepressant, daily-&gt; </li><li>In addition, therapy sessions with me weekly would not hurt! </li></ul></li><li>The End </li>
