There are four primary types of tissues in the body: epithelial, muscle, connective, and nervous tissue. Epithelial tissue forms surfaces and boundaries, muscle tissue enables movement, connective tissue binds and supports other tissues, and nervous tissue transmits signals throughout the body. Each tissue type has further classifications and specialized roles.
