    • The total area is 17 840 000 km²
    • The population is 382 000 000
    • There are 12 countries
    • The languages are Portuguese, Spanish, French, Dutch, English, Quechua, Aymara, Guariní
    • The largest cities are São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Lima, Santiago and Caracas

    • 26,023,528 inhabitants, 93.4 % of this population live in the urban area
    • official language is spanish but there are numerous native languages.
    • Young population > people between 15-64 years represent 63.4 %.
    • Fertility rate is around 2.55 children per woman
    • 96 % of the population belongs to the Roman catholic Church and 2 % is Protestant .

    • The surface is 756.626 km 2
    • Santiago is the capital
    • There are 16,4 million inhabitant and
    • it has a growth of 1,1% per year
    • The population consist of White and

    • The first spoken language is Spanish.

    • In South America two members: Venezuela and Ecuador
    • Venezuela is playing an essential role in this organization

    • Venezuela wants to keep the price high
    • If the price continues to shrink, the country would decide to reduce the total production of the organisation
    • But the country wants to increase its own production
  • 14. The future role of Brazil
    • Offshore oil discovery could help to make Brazil a major petroleum exporter
    • But the country needs time before starting the full exploitation (not before 2013)
