Media Presentation

 1. 1. Media A2 Production By Sarah Hook
 2. 2. Main Production Details Song: Scouting For Girls – I need a holiday Duration: 3:21 Genre: Indie/Pop
 3. 3. Stylistic Influences Daniel Powter – Bad Day I will use some split screen to show the different days I will also use this technique where only the main person is in focus and his surroundings and the other people are blurred I will also use close-ups of the clock to emphasise the time
 4. 4. Intended Audience The intended audience for my music video are teenagers and young adults, this is because the band I am using have a large youth fan base Another way that I will attract my intended audience is by having a main character in school, this way they would be able to relate to him as the target audience will also be at school It will be aimed at both male and female
 5. 5. Visual Style

Close ups

Split screens

Repeated sequences

Lip sync – not to camera, looks as if talking to self because none of my friends will lip sync to camera >:(

 6. 6. Sound Style

The song I am using has;

Piano

Singing

Drums

Trumpets

Tambourine

 7. 7. Mise En Scene

Locations;

Sixth form computer room

Outside school

Bedroom

 8. 8. Narrative Structure

Scan in sheet of lyrics with notes

Start off with guy at work, complaining about work

Goes onto him with him and his friends

“ I wish it could be Sunday when I wake up everyday” multiple shots of him waking up, wearing different pyjamas, calendar says Sunday every day. “Sunday 21 st , Sunday 22 nd etc”

Song is about a guy who hates his job and wants a holiday with his friends

 9. 9. Ancillary Task 1 Cover of a CD For my first ancillary task I will be making a cover of a CD. I want the cover to be basic but eye catching. The main focal point of the album cover will be a billboard with a beach scene on it, in the background will be a cold-looking built up area. I will blur the area which isn’t the beach scene this way it will cause a greater contrast between the two different sceneries. The back cover will have a list of the songs with how long they are, along the left hand side I will have a collage of the band members
 10. 10. Album cover examples I have decided to make my album cover simple but effective, I have taken some inspiration from these album covers as they are basic and they don’t have loads of detail. Also I have decided not to have the band on the front cover and all but on of these examples are the same.
 11. 11. Ancillary Task 2 Magazine advert for the CD

My second ancillary task is a magazine advert for the CD

This will include the name of the band in the same style font which on the CD cover.

It will also have a similar design on it to the CD cover because it would make it easier for a customer to find in the shops if they have only seen the advert for it.

Other things which will be included are;

Names of songs

Ratings (stars)

Review quotes e.g. “Best album so far”

Title of the album (not decided yet)

 12. 12. Team Roles

Sarah = everything

 13. 13. Conclusion and USP

My unique selling point is;

Funny

Relatable

Popular/well known song

I will show my skills by making sure that the lip syncing matches up to the singing I will be using split screen and I will also be using a variety of interesting shots e.g. close ups, long shots, high angle shots etc Another skill I will be showing is making some parts of the shot blurred and others in focus to emphasise a certain person or prop I will also be speeding up and slowing down the shots, “ Looking at my watch, for the millionth time. The days go slow, and then the evenings fly. When I'm outta this place, and the days been won. I'm going out with my friends, I'm hanging out in the sun.” Blue = slow Red = fast
