Getting started on-line

Start the software

Double-click on the Colorful Conversations icon

… the software loads...

Prepare for the session

Click on the Template editor icon

1. Click on the Colorful Conversations Master Template item 2. Click on the Load Template icon

Click on the topic. It will be presented in the Focus box

The topic is presented in the Focus box Click on the Play template

The questions are loaded in the Teamspace The questions are loaded in the Teamspace Click on the close button to exit the Template Editor

Click on the first question to send it to the Agenda box

Host a session

Click on the Host Meeting icon The facilitator is now ready to start a session

Click No to go to the log-on step. Click yes to save the previous session

2. Type the new Meeting name here 1. Type your name here. The default name is ‘ Facilitator’ C. Click Join to begin

Wait for others to connect: You are connected to the server if the Host meeting and Join meeting buttons are greyed out

Join a session as a participant

Click the Join Meeting icon to be a participant

1. Type your name here. The default name is ‘ Team Member’ 2. Scroll down to find the the name of the meeting you wish to join. Click on the name. 3. Click the Join button to begin

Wait for others to connect: You are connected to a meeting if your name is on a Playspace bar and the button bar icons are greyed out

Generate ideas

All participants type ideas in their Playspace, then press F9

Participants contribute more ideas with F9

The facilitator clicks the Show/Hide Playspaces icon to maximise the Teamspace

Click on the Themes icon to start the sensemaking process The particpants read all the ideas

The facilitator types a request for the participants to submit key themes then clicks OK

Click on the Show/Hide Playspaces icon to display the Playspaces.

The participants type 2-3 word summaries of the key themes

The facilitator clicks on the Next Agenda button.

The next question is presented. The facilitator repeats the same process for each question until the session is completed… then…

Leave a session

To leave a session the facilitator and participants each click the Disconnect icon Click the Yes button to leave the meeting. Click No to return.

When a participant disconnects, the button bar becomes available and the names are removed from the Playspace bars.
