  • 2. Different Types of Advertising
    • Politicians use many different types of advertising to make sure their point get across to the viewers.
    • Some of the media used for advertising includes:
      • Many newspapers around the country.
      • Campaigning
      • Television
      • The Internet
  • 3. Advertising in Newspapers
    • Advertising through newspapers is very common among politicians.
      • Advertising includes political cartoons, printed ads, and summaries of important speeches.
  • 4. Advertising through Campaigning
    • Politicians spend most of the political race campaigning around the country.
    • Campaigning gives the politicians a chance to interact with the people directly and this usually has a bigger impact on the voters.
  • 5. Advertising on Television
    • Politicians release a series of commercials on television to impact voters.
    • They are advertised on channels that voters are most likely to watch, such as news stations.
  • 6. Advertising on the Web
    • The internet is used by so many people each day that politicians use it as an easy place for advertising.
      • Just search the name of your favorite, or least favorite politician, and see how many sites come up!
  • 7. Positive Advertising
    • Positive campaigning, or campaign advocacy, is one way politicians can inform voters
      • Campaign advocacy is when a candidate showcases his or her own positive qualities and informs voters about their plan in running the country.
  • 8. Negative Campaigning
    • Negative campaigning is another way candidates can inform voters
      • Negative campaigning involves one candidate showcasing the negative qualities of an opposing candidate in order to gain more votes.
