Final Notes for the High School Resume <ul><li>Keep your resume to ONE page (2 pages maximum) </li></ul><ul><li>Do NOT use sentences – bullets are preferred. </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid the use of “I” or “we” </li></ul><ul><li>Do NOT use abbreviations. </li></ul><ul><li>Keep your resume simple- so it is easy to scan in 20 seconds! </li></ul><ul><li>Limit the number of fonts & type size – Be Consistent! </li></ul><ul><li>Use high quality, resume paper – preferably white or ivory. </li></ul><ul><li>One Final Note: </li></ul><ul><li>What do you call a person who submits a resume with a typo or spelling error? </li></ul>
  15. 15. UNEMPLOYED! <ul><li>Accuracy counts!!! Your Resume is a reflection of YOU! </li></ul><ul><li>AND a reflection of the quality of work you will do IF hired! </li></ul><ul><li>Remember….. 20 seconds is all you get! </li></ul><ul><li>You MUST put your BEST foot forward when you submit a resume or you won’t get the job interview! </li></ul><ul><li>Always include a cover letter with you resume when sending by mail (or e-mail or fax) to highlight your qualifications for the JOB you are applying for. </li></ul><ul><li>GOOD LUCK JOB HUNTING!!! </li></ul>
