Franklin High School ~Dance & Fusion~ - Presentation Transcript
Franklin High School ~Dance & Fusion~ By Daniela C.
Spring Dance Concert
Every year a Spring Dance Concert is held at the Chamizal National Memorial Theater. Franklin High School is the only school that is allowed to use the Chamizal Theater for this event. Each year FHS is chosen out of hundreds of applications. We come out first because we have the best dancers and shows in the whole city of El Paso and the county.
Traveling to New York
Every other year we go to New York City and take classes in modern, jazz, ballet, tap, and funk/hip hop from the very best teachers in New York. We see Broadway Musicals, and various dance companies in performance.
Competitions
We don't compete because I feel that art should be shared and not compared. If we did, I know that Fusion would win every award, because they are so awesome- well trained -skilled- beautiful dancers! - Pam Turley
More Information
Fusion is a dance company, NOT A DANCE TEAM. We have a Fusion class everyday 2nd and 6th periods. They receive P.E. or Fine Arts credit. Auditions are held in May for the following school year. Ms. Turley formed the Fusion Dance Company 13 years ago. Only about 14-19 dancers are chosen by professional dancers/ choreographers/ teachers.
