    • UEN.ORG: Standard 6, Objective 1a.
    • Learning Objective: Students will be able to match vocabulary words with their correct definitions. The students vocabulary will increase through the reading of Charlotte’s Web and the integration of those words into this lesson.
  • 3.
    • We made a jeopardy template to make a game to learn the vocabulary words we were studying for that unit.
  • 4.
    • The students were totally engaged and loved the lesson!
  • 5.
    • Students were engaged in the lesson.
    • The game made vocabulary really fun.
    • Stating behavior expectations went really well. The students stayed on-task and were very enthusiastic.
    • Because it’s a classroom without technology, we brought in a projector and that brought in a new dimension for the children with their learning.
    • My teaching partner and I had a lot of fun teaching this lesson! 

    • The students were a little bit frustrated at the beginning because they didn’t understand the game.
      • In the future I will make my instructions clearer and we will have few practice rounds with the children before we begin the actual game.

    • 1. Student use of technology:
      • The technology was handled by the teacher to make the learning more effective for the children.
      • The children took part of an active learning process.
    • 2. Technology use is essential:
      • We could have used the white board to drill vocabulary words, but the technology we used made it so much more exciting. The children were engaged and excited to play the game that wouldn’t have been possible if we didn’t have the projector.
  • 8.
    • 3. Focus on learning task:
      • The technology we used helped cement the vocabulary words into the students because it was a visual and game. Both of those enhance learning.
    • 4. Added value:
      • This lesson needed technology in order to make it effective. It is possible to do jeopardy on the white board but that takes more time and is less exciting than the actual projector and game.
      • Because of the technology, we were able to focus on the students’ needs rather than the white board.
