      • Sari, India’s traditional national dress for women, is now over 5,000 years old.
      • Sari : An apparel of mystery with many pleats and folds.
      • A long length of fabric, six to nine yards, elegantly wrapped around the body.

The global apparel industry’s total revenue in 2006 was US $ 1, 252.8 billion. Asia Pacific constitutes the largest amount of production and trade in the apparel industry world wide .
    • 5. o Types of Saris and their costs
      • Every state across India has special weaves and fabrics for its saris.
      • Most popular & traditional types: Banarasi and Kanjeevaram
      • A cheap sari can be only 150 rupees ($3.50) whereas upper price limits can easily extend to 50,000 rupees ($ 1,170)

      • Beware of imitaton saris with copies of Kanjeevaram and other patterns
      • Check the quality of silk and zari on the sari
      • Sometimes, weavers use fake gold thread for the zari(embroidery) on sari
