It was founded in 1968 by volunteers/music educators Natalie Werbner and Joan Van Stone.<br />Intended for children of all ages to learn and develop their artistic and music skills.<br />The school holds special events such as: camps, workshops, art galleries and music concerts.<br />About The Foundation<br />

  4. 4. They help children of all ages wend into the eclectic world of art and music so they have something positive to do instead of being on the streets.<br />Program and Goal<br />
  5. 5. The arts help shape individual character and are binding thread in the fabric of American society.<br />Art and music confer ongoing value by bringing new perspectives, skills and joys throughout life as well as benefit the workforce and economy.<br />Community Need<br />

  8. 8. Potential art teachers need to meet certain qualifications which are:<br />Prior experience working with children<br />Reliable<br />Excellent communication skills<br />Patient<br />Warm, fun and a team player<br />Friendly<br />Processes<br />

If someone wants to apply to be an executive director they also need to meet certain qualifications:<br />Is an experienced non-profit executive with a bachelor’s degree of higher<br />Minimum of 7 years of management experience<br />Should be out-going, social, creative and energetic<br />Processes<br />

We hold camps and workshops so children have the opportunity to explore, pursue, and learn different kinds of arts and music.<br />Our music classes give students individualized attention in small, age appropriate classes that focuson building solid music fundamentals on all levels<br />Outputs<br />
  11. 11. Our art classes allow artists of all ages to engage their creativity and persevere in mastering new skills in a positive, supportive environment.<br />Outputs<br />
  12. 12. Students that went in and new nothing about music and art, are becoming more adept in their new skills.<br />Students learning a new instrument or learning how to paint or draw don’t consider it arduous anymore, but a fun activity to do that improves your character. <br />Outcomes<br />

We have to figure out the best way to teach the students how to learn new instruments or learn how to paint without making them feel like its impossible.<br />We also have to set up all of the workshops, camps and other special events that the school hosts. <br />We have to figure out the budget the school has for new supplies that the children can use. <br />Link to Critical Thinking<br />

We have to figure out what sort of people are qualified enough to teach an art skill to the children.<br />We have to find volunteers that are willing to come in and help organize the supplies after everyone is finished using them.<br />We give a supportive and fun environment to teach the children in so that they always want to come back.<br />Link to Critical Action<br />

I chose this foundation because I have always liked art and music every since I was a little kid.<br />I play the guitar and like to take pictures.<br />A non-profit organization that helps children better their lives by teaching them art, I think is a great thing for the community.<br />Personal Connection<br />
