    • TECHNOLOGY MARKETING: BLOGS, PODCASTS AND WEBINARS Greg Siskind [email_address] 901-682-6455
    • BLOGS – The Pluses
      • Extremely effective way market a niche practice, or promote firm news
      • Very easy to use software that can be updated quickly and easily
      • Content easier to generate quickly
      • Search engines like them
      • Good way to recycle content – articles, powerpoints, video and audio files
    • BLOGS – The Minuses
      • Easily become stale without regular attention
      • Not a substitute for writing articles (though the two complement each other)
      • Tougher to monitor and requires training and trust
      • Lack of formality might not fit image of a firm
      • Not always easy to come up with news in very narrow subject-matter web sites
    • My Blogs
      • The big blog – news and opinion at http://blogs.ilw.com/gregsiskind
      • Visalaw blog – PR-oriented (news articles, announcements, etc.)
      • Health Care Immigration
      • Fashion, Arts Sports Immigration
      • Technotes – Gadgets and tech for lawyers
    • Podcasts
      • Essentially, just a new way to deliver audio content
      • The home movie problem – use scripting and professional recording
      • Podcasts can instead be an effective way to repackage recorded speeches and presentations; be careful about radio shows
    • Podcast tips
      • Keep the audio short. 15-30 minutes is probably ideal and consider breaking up longer recordings in to multiple podcasts with perhaps a brief introduction to each part.
      • Audio quality matters – the home movie problem.
      • Get your Podcast listed in major Podcast directories.
      • Advertise the existence of your Podcast on your home page, blogs (including embedding) and other materials. Send clients email announcements
    • Webinars
      • Great alternative to presenting live programs
      • Interactive
      • Webcam integration
      • Audio component – streaming or teleconference
      • Software prices plunging – to zero! ( www.zoho.com , www.dimdim.com )
