    6. 9 Projects PGPX consists of three project components totalling up to 135 sessions. Every student undertakes a faculty- guided Individual Research Project (IRP) on a topic of his or her own choice. The International Immersion Programme offers international exposure as well as an opportunity to consult on an industry-sponsored project within or outside India. Finally, the programme culminates with the two-week Capstone Project which places the students in simulated business environments, providing an opportunity to integrate their learnings and experience for working in large, multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines. Individual Research Project IRP provides students an opportunity to explore their passion while taking advantage of the rich and diverse experience of the IIMA faculty network. Each of these projects results in one of the following: • A business plan • An industry note • A company-specific case study • A business plan on bridging the social divide International Immersion Programme The five-week International Immersion Programme (IIP) prepares students to take up challenging assignments relevant to today's globalized business world. During the first week of IIP, the students attend a custom designed programme at one of five reputed international business schools which helps them understand the macro economic underpinnings of business in that country. This year's students have a choice of attending Amsterdam Business School (Netherlands), Chinese University of Hongkong (China), Columbia Business School (New York), Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (Germany), or Warwick University Business School (UK). During the next four weeks, each student undertakes a consulting assignment at a sponsoring firm around the host country. Over the past two years, the list of sponsoring firms has grown to include Acumen Fund, Cognizant Solutions, Delta Lloyd, Gridstone Research, IBM, Intel Capital, Kotak International, Microsoft, naukri.com, NCDEX, OLAM, Tech Mahindra, Titan, Unilever, VSNL, Wipro Technologies, and Yes Bank.
