  • Assist businesses with such services as cooperative retail locations, advertising, press, an online promotion and sales
  • Google’s algorithm takes in a slew of aspects for SEO, but new and diverse content is something it loves. For instance, a blog, a video and a web site. So using social media is a great way to increase content on a milti-daily basis. Having the exact same content isn’t always key for pages and sites that are pretty stagnant, but for things like Twitter and FB it is okay b/c it is trying to search billions of pages a day and it can’t actually keep up with what the post is.
  • How much time do we spend on social networking? Inquire about their use of social networking sites. Twitter Facebook MySpace LinkedIn Flickr Blog – wordpress, blogspot
  • How many of you have used a hashtag before? I assume that most of you have your phone set up and have tweeted from your phone. Use the hashtag #g&SMC to ask questions throughout the presentation. If possible, I will incorporate the answers as I go along. Otherwise, I will come back and answer them at the end as well as taking question “traditional” style. Hashtags are a community-driven convention for adding additional context and metadata to your tweets. They're like tags on Flickr, only added inline to your post. You create a hashtag simply by prefixing a word with a hash symbol: #hashtag. Hashtags were developed as a means to create "groupings" on Twitter, without having to change the basic service.
  • CoTweet is how business does Twitter. CoTweet allows multiple people to communicate through corporate Twitter accounts and stay in sync while doing so. No dropped balls, no stepping on each other's toes. With CoTweet, you can: Engage people throughout your company — Share the job of being on duty. Tap the collective wisdom of people across functional areas like marketing, PR and customer service. Assign tasks and track follow-ups. Focus on the conversations that matter — Know when you need to jump in. Track your exchanges through simple case management. Schedule updates to make company announcements. Keep your brand human — Automatically include signatures in your updates to identify who's talking and keep conversations personal.
  • You need to decide what works best for you. We used to do FB to twitter, but realized that most times we exceeded the 140 characters for twitter…so people always had to click to FB for more info…and that was annoying. You can customize it too. So many people read our blog directly on FB that we didn’t want to take that away, but we didn’t want it to double post. So, we customized our twitter feed to only feed when we have #FB our symbol in it.
  • Quick and inexpensive ads – how many of you have actually clicked on an ad? Are you more apt to click on a local ad or an obviously corporate ad?
  • Database driven eCommerce – install on your own server with your own domain – specially geared toward handmade products such as jewelry, textiles, crafts, etc
  • Updating any site regularly means fresh content which is what the search engines thrive on. If you are blogging correctly, you’ll update information or add posts at least once or twice a week. It’s an easy way for people to link to you. Blog stories can be pulling in web sites upon request, creating more reciprocal links. It’s a great way to add a personal touch to your business. Let readers learn more about you and your product or service, creating trust. Get a FREE blog at
