I will share my experience with online typography to improve learning in Moodle for course developers, authors, or those interested in visual design. Well-designed typography comes from understanding and learning from the past while refining for your medium. What is well-designed? "Typography exists to honor content" (Binghurst, 1999). Design and typography are visual and functional ways to communicate and assist learning. In the humanistic environment of a university, our goal is to use visual design to clarify and present our courses with the dignity and craftsmanship that they deserve and to make reading online more enjoyable and effective for students.
