    • Increase and facilitate use of public and private spatial data and information
    • Support regional demands
    • Open standards (INSPIRE, OGC, ISO, etc.) obligatory
    • “ data at the source”
    • Base on existing structures and developments on regional, national and international scale (GDI-DE, RGI space for geoinformation NL, GDI NRW, GDI Nds, …)
    • Make use of existing solutions
    • Transfer of solutions, knowledge and experience to other partners
    •  X-border-GDI contributes to a European SDI

    • X-border-GDI as program framework for a large number of particular activities along entire border region Netherlands-Germany

    • Provide cross-border specific SDI components and expertise
    • Conduct projects with a defined user-demand
    • Transfer applications and components, share know-how and experiences
