  3. 3. Why Blog?<br />Communication Skills<br />Learn how to express your own ideas<br />Learn how to respond respectfully to other’s opinions<br />Technology Skills<br />Typing, using computer programs, internet safety rules<br />
  4. 4. Why Blog?<br />Writing Skills<br />Spelling and grammar<br />Commitment and Responsibility<br />Commit to posting on a regular basis<br />Responsible for posting facts <br />Responsible for posting as professional students<br />
  5. 5. Blogging Security<br />Do not post the following information:<br />School name or our location<br />Your age<br />Email address<br />Phone numbers<br />Home address.<br />
  6. 6. Blogging Security<br />You can post the following information:<br />Your first name only<br />Your interests and opinions<br />Your thoughts and feelings<br />Creative stories, summaries, poems, etc.<br />
  7. 7. Username/Password<br />You will be given your own username and password<br />Do notshare usernames or password with anyone besides your teachers and parents <br />Never log in as another student<br />
  8. 8. Blog Space = Classroom Space<br />Inappropriate for class = Inappropriate for your blog<br />Debate and conversation is OK!<br />You will conduct yourself as a professional student.<br />
  9. 9. Comments<br />All comments must be respectful<br />If a comment makes you feel uncomfortable, weird, or not respected:<br />tell your teacher right away<br />do not respond to the comment<br />
