However, what I find interesting here, is the ability for the brand to be 'somehow' transparent - the global idea and the videos were great - then I don't know about the execution of the rest.1 month ago
tsomaniHey - great presentation but I disagree with the McDonalds 'behind the scenes' campaign as a whole (Maybe the video did great, but I think the campaign overall was awful). As a mom, I found it disingenuous. There were spots with moms (or actors) on morning TV talk shows (clearly bought) and the whole vibe felt fake and off-putting. I'm not against eating the occasional cheeseburger or happy meal (yes I love them too), so why did McD go to all these lengths to change the minds of a few moms who hate them? Talk to the moms that are ok with McD's in moderation instead. On the other hand, I LOVED McD's intro of their McCafe - from online ads, free coffee weeks to product placement, outdoor advertising and more, I thought THAT campaign beat out the moms by a long shot. It was consistent, well-thought out, hit the right target audience and was frequent and long-running enough to really change behaviour. A win in my opinion.1 month ago
