Yaritza's Story Yaritza's Story Presentation Transcript

  • The Time I Broke My Arm By Yaritza
  • Two years ago on March 2, 2009, when I was seven, I broke my arm. On that day I was flying my kite with my sisters and cousins. We were flying our kites back and forth in my neighborhood.
  • As we ran to our left, a Chihuahua started barking and chasing us. I tripped and fell on my arm. The dog was trying to bite me, but my dad came running to me and scared the dog away and picked me up.
  • I was crying because I couldn’t move my arm so we couldn’t go to the park to fly our kites. My mom and dad took me to the doctor.
  • When we got to the doctor, I was terrified. They called me, and the doctor sent my parents to a room to wait for another doctor.
  • When the doctor came, she told us to follow her to an x-ray room. The doctor x-rayed my arm and took three different pictures of my arm. She told my parents that I had a broken bone, and that I had to wear a cast.
  • Then we went to a different room. The doctor told me to pick a color for my cast, so I picked purple which is my favorite color. Before we left for home, the doctor told me I had to wear it for two months.
  • I was happy because people could sign my purple cast.
  • Author’s Note My name is Yaritza. I am nine years old. I love to play with my cousins Joiyanny and Johan. I love to fly kites. My favorite color is purple. I worked very hard on this book. I hope you like it.
