I began my career on the shop floor as a welder fitter where I learned a lot about manufacturing processes and the ideas of Edwards Deming. I jumped into manufacturing management, then manufacturing software where I helped create one of the worlds first make to order manufacturing software companies. I am doing the same thing with companies but my interest is in knowledge work which is way behind the manufacturing world in efficiency and effectiveness.
