Social Media Personality TypesDebs -- thanks for stopping by! I actually left some out -- and I didn’t group them. They’d be grouped by Self-oriented, Other-oriented, and Relationship/Activity-oriented. Or think ones, pairs, and triangles.
I know some of these seem similar, but I wouldn’t combine the types. Although some people may have different behaviors depending on context.
A harmonizer can look like an em-cee, but actually the harmonizer is aware of how friends are doing viz a viz each other. Whereas the em-cee recognizes the talents of colleagues and identifies through that. Totally different psychologies. But both are folks who dont talk about themselves so much, but are instead tuned to other people. An em-cee knows others well. A harmonizer is aware of how they are getting along.10 months ago

User Competencies of Social Media UserThanks for the comment! I’m more comfortable off the cow path, for sure.
I have one on user profiles in the works, and will post as soon as it’s ready -- mapping to real use cases isn’t rocket science but does require access to a platform -- and its user and usage data. Or access to several different kinds of sites/systems. Great research project for somebody interested in mapping user activity to high-level social interaction design claims.2 years ago

Social network websites: best practices from leading servicesFour slideshows in one, but mine are like that too so no complaints. Well done. Would love to see you guys do something similar on social media marketing -- that’s bigger here in US than it is in Europe, but would be interesting to get a sense of how commercial Europeans will let their social media become, and how much commerce they’ll tolerate in social media communities. Thanks!2 years ago

Do Real People Really Use Tag Clouds?cool and thanks -- i can see how a cbs uses socmedia to bring in participants (a broadcaster will always think about its own audience first), or how red bull would use socmedia to provide cool content and cool audiences (a beverage needs associate with content because its content is liquid)... for brand plays, like Williams Sonoma, what’s the best socmedia play? I’m wondering if conversational media make a good tool for branding, or are better for direct sales, events, promos, etc..2 years ago
