Site Collection Description:
15 Sub-sites (using “Decision Making” template)
Three discussion boards: ops, security and marketing
Three document libraries
Two RSS feeds webparts
One site tracker webpart

Search, Version Control, Lists and Forms
All content from discussion boards, document libraries, lists and surveys can be quickly searched.
Version Control is enabled on all document libraries to allow for an audit trail on all policy documents and change control to web site
Forms are displayed as surveys to use as daily check lists

Design starts from the the workflow map. Committees and agencies become naviagation tabs for Share Point workspace templates.

The User Interface is designed for the critical needs of the business

Common Issues
Issue: You get prompted for credentials when checking out documents from a Share Point document library.
Resolution: Add the URL of your Share Point Intranet site to “Intranet Zone” in your IE browser security tab. (you will get prompted twice then never again for credentials)
Issue: Editing web.conf creates run time application error in web browser when accessing Share Point
Resolution: Always backup your web.conf before editing. Sometimes strange characters get pasted into file. Revert to the saved web.conf before changes were made and recheck your changes
Issue: some free web parts don’t work
Resolution: It is buyer beware, stuff is free and doesn’t always work or works on specific versions which don’t happen to be your version of SP
Issue: Share Point wss_content_log.LDF log file gets really big (1.5 gigs)
Resolution: Download SQL Server Management Studio and follow instructions
