Communist were active members. 2) Chiang Kai Shek (1887-1975) : Takes over KMT after Sun, attempts to unify China and purge communist. 3) Chinese Community Party/CCP (1921) : Soviets help found communist party, unique in based on farmer support. Break from KMT in 1927 4) Chinese Civil War (1927–1949) : Chiang conquers warlords in north.

  • 8) Modern Chinese Commuinist Party : CCP no longer promotes communist ideas (other than still valuing helping the poor). Now it’s a oligarchy (party controls gov) with a capitalist socialist economy (more soc than Europe). China is called communist now because the party that has total power is called the Communist Party, and only Communist Party members can have power, NOT BECAUSE ITS ECONOMY IS COMMUNIST, ITS NOW CAPITALIST SOCIALIST ECONOMY.
