DubHub pitch deck v. 2.b - approx: 3.5 minutes.
We all love movies. The world loves movies. But did you know only 10% of all movies are available in more than two languages? Now imagine there was a simple way to get any movie, any time, any where, and in any language.
Our company, DubHub is developing an online platform that enables anyone to create language voice-overs and sell them directly to consumers worldwide. These dubs work with any DVD, Bluray or downloaded title.
I’m Gus and I’ve spent over a decade creating new media technologies from Hollywood to Bollywood. I’ve worked closely with major studios, broadcasters and media enterprises throughout the world.
And found that they all have the same desperate question: How do we make money online? I’ve learned that people don’t buy content online unless it has the 3 C’s: It’s Cheap, Compelling and Customized.
One day while watching the Japanese classic “Seven Samurai,” I thought: Wouldn’t it be cool if this were available in English? Or “Dirty Harry” in Hindi? Why not “Blazing Saddles” in Swahili? And I wasn’t alone.
Dubbed movies are a $10 Billion market and exploding. From Asia to South America dub versions are doubling box office profits. And it’s not just the common languages either. Recently Spiderman 3 was re-released in 4 dialects of Hindi, tripling its audiences. It seems people WILL pay to watch movies in their own language—whether new or old.
If a movie dubbed is a movie recreated—a new sellable product. Imagine what a thousand movies, each in a hundred languages means: a CHEAP way to create COMPELLING content simply by CUSTOMIZING it for the global, multi-lingual market!
So why hasn’t it been done? In short:control, scale, and fear. Studios have bottle-necked the production process--dubbers simply can’t keep up with growing demand. Distribution, licensing and quality control remain a nightmare. Piracy is still a huge threat. Thus, “every movie in every language” remains a pipe-dream. Until now.
DubHub solves the problems in 3 revolutionary ways: We provide a crowdsource dubbing solution. Our groupware gives everyone the tools and incentive to create great dubsWe provide a legal online marketplace to buy and sell the dubs. This gives studios an easy, low-risk way to makes lots of money on vast movie and TV archivesWe provide an opensource plugin to synchronize and play the dubs. This accelerates adoption giving the world more movies in more languages on more devices … It gives dubbers the tools, incentive and legal environmentto create qualitydubsIt givesstudios an easy way to make lots of money on vast movie and TV archivesIt gives audiences worldwide access to more movies in their own language on more devices
Together, these components make up the “Dubs On Demand” Platform.…DubHub solves these problems in three revolutionary ways: We crowdsource dub production. Our groupware gives anybody the tools and incentive to create great dubsWe provide a legal online marketplace where people can buy and sell dubs. This gives studios an easy, low-risk way to makes lots of money on vast movie and TV archivesWe provide an opensource plugin to synchronize and play the dubs. This maximizes adoption giving the world more movies in more languages on more devices …To do this, our platform simply provides 3 components: A toolkit for producers to create the dubsA marketplace to sell the dubs A playerplug-in to synchronize the dubs
But we aren’t anotherNetflix. DubHub only sells audio voice-overs that replace a movie’s original language via our player plugin. This allows us to compliment instead of compete against existing solutions and license agreements.
Here’s how it works:Consumers Search for movie dubsDubHub captures and alerts of demandApproved studio transcripts are releasedProducers create and submit dubsConsumers sample and buy the dubsConsumers rate the dubs, word spreadsRevenue is split between the studios, dubbers, and DubHub
DubHub will be a key player in the race for global media adoption. Once milestones are reached, we project earnings to increase by a factor of six annually, keeping pace with expansion of major media companies.
DubHub is moving fast. We already have advisors and interest from major studios and media companies. We need fundsto file patents, finish software, get content and get buy-in from moremedia executives. Our goal is to have “1,000,000 dubs sold” within the first year.
Nomatter how niche the content or language, DubHub will revolutionize how the world buys and watches movies. It’s good for the industry, the global village, and of course our investors.
DubHub. Pick your movie, pick your language, press play.
