1. BJJ Kimono, What They Are And How To Buy Them
Have you heard of BJJ Kimonos? These are the clothes worn by
anyone who is practicing the Brazilian martial art known as Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu. Knowing which BJJ Kimono or Gi colors are allowed for
competition is important if you want to get yourself one. You should
also be aware of the places to buy these Gis from. If you are
engaged in Brazilian Jiu jitsu, you should expect to engage in a lot of
ground fighting and grappling. BJJ has obtained its influences from

The gi must be constructed of cotton or similar material and be in good condition. The material
may not be excessively thick or hard to the point where it will obstruct the opponent. Black, white
and blue are the recommended colors for the Gi, but do not mix and match. The jacket should be
long, but not too much. Thigh-length would be ideal. The sleeves should also be wrist-length.
Follow the official measurements prescribed by the IBJJF when it comes to the sleeves. Choose a
belt that coincides with your rank, and make sure it is 4-5 cm wide. The belt must be tied around
the waist with a double knot, tight enough to secure the kimono closed. A belt that is obviously
worn and old, and with the color having changed, need to be replaced immediately before you
head out to a competition.
Except for females, competitors are not allowed to wear any other outerwear beneath their
kimonos. If the length of the sleeves and pants are too long or too short, they won't be allowed to
compete. The gi should not be painted on, no matter how artistic you think it is. If it's a team

wouldn't have to pay taxes in most cases. But since you will be looking through a wide variety of
sellers that sell a lot of BJJ kimonos, you would be having a difficult time making your choice.
There is also the risk that they are of low quality. Go to someone from your own dojo, or someone
experienced at this sort of thing, and ask for their thoughts. If not, you can always go straight to
