  • 22. Social Responsibility We Care Caring for our society, the same way we care for our customers! Goodrich recognizes its responsibility as a corporate citizen and is dedicated to supporting Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) – a voluntary welfare organisation with the mission to develop a range of services to help the less fortunate maximize their potential. As part of our efforts, we have jointly organised the annual Goodrich-AWWA Charity Golf competition since 2003 to raise much-needed funds for AWWA programmes. 2006 – raised more than $191,000 in aid of AWWA Centre for Caregivers (Family Support Group Programme). 2005 – raised more than S$87,000 for the running of G o o d r i c h - AW WA C a r e g i v e r s Tr a i n i n g C e n t r e . 2004 – raised more than S$131,000 for setting up the G o o d r i c h - AW WA C a r e g i v e r s Tr a i n i n g C e n t r e . 2003 – raised more than S$36,000 for AWWA Centre for Care Education & Social Services (ACCESS) Building Fund. Goodrich is also actively involved in the AWWA Sports Day. Our staff are encouraged to participate in the organizing and running of this event be it by planning activities, distributing food and drinks or simply providing directions and other logistics support. Through participation in community work and interaction with the less fortunate, we hope to develop a sense of corporate social responsibility in our employees. 25

Grooming The Next Generation In nurturing creativity, an early start goes a long way In support of aspiring young designers, Goodrich actively conducts educational hands-on workshops for youth and students around Asia. These workshops cover the trends, techniques and possible applications of wallcoverings, carpets, fabrics and floorings in both residential and commercial market. In addition, Goodrich also sponsors numerous programmes such as “Creative Youth Xchange” – a competition driven by Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (Singapore), where youth from around the region are invited to e x p r e s s t h e i r c r e a t i v i t y b y g i v i n g h o t e l s u i t e s a n d r o o m s a m a k e o v e r. Goodrich believes in grooming our very own younger generation employees through brand internalization workshops, leadership development and more. In line with our business succession plan - grooming the next generation of internal and external stakeholders is vital for our continuous growth. 26

Singapore Promising Brand Award We’ve won the Singapore Promising Brand Award ( SPBA ) three times Jointly organized by the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises and Lianhe Zaobao in Singapore, the SPBA is a premier branding award given to recognize local organizations who have shown outstanding performance in brand communications and performance. In 2006, Goodrich Global was awarded the prestigious SPBA Gold Award, recognizing our achievements i n w i n n i n g t h e S P B A “ D i s t i n c t i v e Aw a r d ” f o r t h r e e c o n s e c u t i v e y e a r s f r o m 2 0 0 4 t o 2 0 0 6 .
