Samsung Inaugurates Its New ES Series with the No-Thrills ES10 - Presentation Transcript

Let us look at the visage of this device and try to fathom its benefits for the photographically inclined user. First of all, Samsung promises us really high quality pictures (8.1 mega pixel 1/2.5\" high resolution) thanks to the camera's CCD sensor. The device has 3x zoom capability and uses various image-polishing technologies with its integrated image processor, which should make your pictures poster-material. Similarly to other products of its ilk, the ES10 comes with tricks that help its users avoid certain classic photography mistakes by default. For instance, with the Beauty Shot, the camera detects imperfections in human faces and perfections them, so to speak. If you're worried about getting pictures with too much of an artificial look, there are settings for different levels of such retouching. Face Detection is not exactly a novelty, but a handy function taken one step ahead with Self-Portrait. The camera beeps when it has finished recognizing and positioning a face, and the fact that it also compensates for a possibly shaking hand means you can take photos even in hang-over conditions. The no-more-red-eye function is, again, not something revolutionary, but quite useful as you don't have to remove that effect by editing the image file in Photoshop or something like that. Samsung's camera features a 2.5 inch LCD and seems to be smart enough to recognize certain environmental lighting conditions that would imperil the picture. So, it automatically adjusts the brightness levels for what is known as “optimal viewing.” You can also do video recordings with the ES10 at a MPJEG VGA resolution of 640
    2. x 480 and 30/15fps. And you can turn your pictures into a slideshow, even adding music or special slideshow effects to it. As the features of the ES10 are quite fine, but not miraculous, and the design is pretty conservative, the camera will probably have a low, affordable price.
