They collect the following information on the pupil:
Competences (In this phase the use of particular non verbal techniques such as drawing, sketch, the manipulative and gestural expressiveness activities and logical-mathematical ones, can facilitate the knowledge of the pupil)
They give the pupil a language level test to know his/her ability in the Italian language in case the student had been living in Italy for a time considered enough to learn some linguistic knowledge.

Art. 45 of DPR 31/8/99 n.394 : the foreign minors subject to the scholastic obligation are to be addressed to the class correspondent to the identification age , unless the teaching staff deliberates the registration to a different class, considering:
the student’s country educational system that could determine the registration to a class lower or immediately upper then the one correspondent to the identification age;
• the course of studies eventually followed;
the assessment of competences, skills and level of preparation
classes with a number of students lower than the maximum one foreseen by the law;
complexity of the classes;
pupils coming from the same Country
They identify the class suitable for the pupil
An informative Kit on the pupil’s previous education is given to the class teachers besides all the useful information for the teaching method planning.
ALLOCATION TO THE CLASS The pupil’s family will be informed if it is necessary to buy books. If the pupil does not have any linguistics competence, other books which make the Italian language learning easier will be proposed.
