Heaven and Hell

  1. 1. Presented by Brenda Music: He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother by The Hollies
  2. 2. A Holy man was having a conversation with the Lord Jesus one day and said, 'Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'
  3. 3. The Lord Jesus led the holy man to two doors.
  4. 4. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.
  5. 5. In the middle of the room was a large round table..
  6. 6. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew,   which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.
  7. 7. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly.
  8. 8. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.
  9. 9. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths so they were starving.
  10. 10. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their struggling misery and suffering.
  11. 11. The Lord Jesus said, 'You have seen Hell..
  12. 12. They went to the next room and opened the door.
  13. 13. Inside it looked exactly the same as the first one. Everything in the room appeared to be identical.
  14. 14. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water..
  15. 15. The people were equipped in the same manner with the identical longhandled spoons, taped to their arms. But here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
  16. 16. The puzzled Holy man murmered, 'I don't understand.
  17. 17. 'It is simple,' said the Lord Jesus. 'It requires but one skill.
  18. 18. “You see, they have learned to feed each other !”
  19. 19. The greedy think only of themselves.'
  20. 20. 15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
  21. 21. Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" 16
  22. 22.     He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."        Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."
  23. 23.  17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"    Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He   said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."    Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. John 21 (NIV)
  24. 24.  You prepare a table before me   in the presence of my enemies. Psalm 23:5
  25. 25. Don’t be a picky eater.  The spiritual food on that plate  are the vitamins and nutrients  for your personal survival and  well being.
  26. 26. HE was thinking of YOU THE END
