### Math Visual Vocabulary

1. 1. Math and our Environment
2. 2. ADJACENT ANGLES <ul><li>Angles that are next to each they; they have a common side but no overlap. </li></ul>
3. 3. ANGLE <ul><li>A figure that is formed by two rays or two line segments with a common end point. </li></ul>
4. 4. ARC <ul><li>Part of a circle, from one point on the circle to another. </li></ul>
5. 5. ARRAY <ul><li>An arrangement of objects in a regular pattern, usually in rows or columns. Arrays can be used to model multiplication. </li></ul>
6. 6. CIRCLE <ul><li>Set of all points in a plane that are a given distance from a given point in the plane. The given point is the center of the circle. </li></ul><ul><li>Circumference is the distance around </li></ul><ul><li>a circle. </li></ul>
7. 7. CONGRUENT <ul><li>Having exactly the same shape and size. </li></ul>
8. 8. ENLARGE <ul><li>To increase the size of an object. </li></ul>
9. 9. PARALLEL <ul><li>Never meeting and always the same distance apart. Lines, line segments, rays in a plane, and planes are parallel if they never meet. </li></ul>
10. 10. SEMI-CIRCLE <ul><li>An arc whose </li></ul><ul><li>end points are </li></ul><ul><li>the end points </li></ul><ul><li>of the diameter </li></ul><ul><li>of a circle. </li></ul>
11. 11. SYMMETRIC <ul><li>Having the same size and shape on either side of a line or looking the same when turned by some amount less than 360 degrees. </li></ul>
12. 12. VANISHING LINE <ul><li>A line connecting a point on a figure in a perspective drawing with the vanishing point. </li></ul>
